Promotes and restores critically ill patients’ health by implementing the nursing process, continuously monitoring vital signs and clinical conditions, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and providing comprehensive physical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and their families in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment & Monitoring:
Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate, BP, O2 levels) and subtle changes in critically ill patients, documenting everything meticulously.
Administer medications (IV, oral, etc.), fluids, and treatments as ordered, managing drips and complex equipment like ventilators.
Develop, implement, and execute personalized care plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
Respond quickly and calmly to medical emergencies, coordinating resuscitation efforts and alerting the healthcare team.
Work closely with doctors, therapists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Communicate complex information to families, provide emotional support, and educate them on recovery.
Proficiently use and maintain complex medical equipment, identifying malfunctions.
Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient records.
