    Job Summary

    An emergency doctor (Emergency Physician) provides immediate, high-stakes medical care to patients with acute illnesses or traumatic injuries in emergency departments (ER), MBBS/ MD/ DNB / MEM/ MRCEM/ CCTEM/FEM. They rapidly diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients of all ages using advanced procedures like CPR, intubation, and trauma management, often working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

    Responsibilities

    Core Responsibilities

    • Rapid Assessment & Treatment: Assess and stabilize patients with life-threatening conditions (e.g., heart attacks, accidents, severe trauma) immediately.
    • Procedures: Perform advanced life-saving procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line insertion, chest tube insertion, defibrillation, and wound care.
    • Diagnostics: Order and interpret diagnostic tests (imaging, blood tests) to make fast, accurate decisions.
    • Triage & Management: Manage patient flow, triage incoming cases based on severity, and coordinate with specialists for admission or discharge.
    • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams during high-stress situations.
    Skill Required

    Requirements & Skills

    • Education: Medical degree (MBBS/MD) with specialized residency training in Emergency Medicine,MBBS/ MD/ DNB / MEM/ MRCEM/ CCTEM/FEM
    • Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
    • Skills: Exceptional clinical decision-making, emotional resilience, teamwork, time management, and ability to handle high-pressure environments.
    • Schedule: Often requires working irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

      Work Environment

    Emergency doctors work in hospital emergency departments, urgent care facilities, and sometimes in pre-hospital, disaster, or trauma networks.
