JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Endoscopy Technician to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in endoscopic procedures and a strong commitment to patient care. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians with endoscopic procedures, ensuring the proper functioning of endoscopy equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment to ensure patient safety and comfort.

DEPARTMENT: GASTROENTEROLOGY

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with Endoscopic Procedures: Prepare patients and assist physicians during endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and bronchoscopies, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Set up, test, and maintain endoscopy equipment before and after procedures. Ensure all instruments are sterilized and in good working condition.
• Patient Preparation and Care: Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients. Prepare patients for procedures, including positioning and monitoring vital signs.
• Sterilization and Infection Control: Follow strict protocols for cleaning and sterilizing endoscopy equipment and instruments to prevent infections and cross-contamination.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any complications or observations during procedures.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of endoscopy supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary items are stocked and available.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide high-quality care and support to patients.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with advancements in endoscopic technology and techniques. Participate in continuing education and training sessions as required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as an Endoscopy Technician preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of endoscopic procedures and equipment.
• Proficiency in sterilization techniques and infection control.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Work Schedule

Full-time position hours may vary based on departmental needs. May require occasional weekend or evening shifts.
